Richard Shaw is an urban designer with a background in sustainable travel. He has over 20 years professional experience in both the public and private sectors.
Richard has been the urban designer for a number of local authorities in the East Midlands for over 12 years, being responsible for improving the design quality of new development.
He has specific experience of working within a local government context with developers and their design teams, planning officers and highways officers on the design of new residential areas and communities.
Richard has experience of writing design guidance documents, masterplanning, working with design codes and delivering design training. He has extensive working knowledge of using Building for a Healthy Life / Building for Life 12.
