Office for Place in Stoke-on-Trent welcomed

Design:Midlands, the independent, impartial organisation providing design support for local authorities, communities, housebuilders and design professionals welcomes today’s announcement of the establishment of the Government’s Office for Place in Stoke on Trent.

Design:Midlands, which covers both the east and west of the region, offers design review, engagement, support with local plans and training through a panel of over 60 built environment specialists including architects, town planners, highways specialists and environmental experts.  The core of its services is the engagement of both experts and local communities to ensure high quality in the development of new residential, public realm and regeneration schemes.

Julie Tanner, D:M Chief Executive, said "The Office for Place's remit is closely aligned to our principles and activities and we hope very much to be able to work together and make a real difference to the communities of our home patch; and with the Department for Levelling up, Housing and Communities  just down the rail line in Wolverhampton, the opportunities for successful collaboration and exemplary work are there to be taken."
